Hey, I'm Amity!
I’m a homeschooling mom of three kids who created Helpful Homeschool after years of trial, error, prayer, and experience. I know how overwhelming it can feel to sort through endless online information regarding curriculum choices, state requirements, schedules, and conflicting advice while trying to make the best decisions for your family.
I never expected to homeschoool...
When my oldest child was three and began trying to read, I realized that I couldn’t wait two more years to start his education. At that time, God placed the right people into my life to guide me through the difficult decision and beginning process.
The journey was not always simple. I had to learn how to choose a curriculum that worked for our family, how to organize our days, how to balance the needs of multiple children while not giving up on myself, and how to build new routines that worked for our family.
Why Helpful Homeschool exists...
As I gained experience, other parents began asking me how I got started, and I recognized the same questions and uncertainty I had once faced. Which curriculum should I choose? What does my state require? How do I create a schedule? How do I know whether homeschooling will work for my family? How do I identify my child’s learning style? How do I make this an enjoyable experience?
Helpful Homeschool was created to help you move from confusion to confidence in the midst of those difficult decisions. I wanted to build the kind of resource I wish I had when I began. A resource that organizes information, respects each family’s unique needs, and helps parents move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
What guides us...
My faith, family, and belief in parents’ responsibility guide the inspiration behind Helpful Homeschool. I believe technology can help organize information and personalize recommendations, but it should never replace a parent’s judgment, values, or knowledge of their child.
Helpful Homeschool is being built to support parents, not to pressure them into one method, curriculum, or definition of success. My goal is to help families feel informed and encouraged as they build a homeschooling routine that fits their home and their lifestyle.
